FULL BIO

Squid Lid is a spectacle of wondrous darkness. They are a glimpse into an alternate world. To attend a Squid Lid performance is to embark on a twisted, deep sea exploration where you can catch a glimpse of many strange and unusual creatures. A vast collection of glowing masks and an eerie cast of striking, inhuman characters morph and change before your very eyes. Signature glowing lights and original set design characterizes the groups' eerie aesthetic. Each song is an original soundtrack to an exciting story about metamorphosis and evolution. Squid Lid has a quirky electronic sound that mashes elements of Neo-Industrial, Electro-House, Crunchy Dubstep, and Circus. Their sound is often described as being cinematic.
Band founder and main contributor James Zirco Fisher composes and arranges the music, designs the creature masks and plays keyboards and sampled sequences live. Chloe Dellark is a triple threat with enchanting vocals, aerial acrobatics, and an unforgettable stage presence. Dallas Boyes conjures light and video projections during live shows and produces most of Squid Lid's music videos mirroring the magic of the deep sea world the band originated from. Jonah K co-produces the Squid Lid sound with his dark bass/beats sensibilities and has been part of the group since it's incarnation in 2009. Warner Reshife embodies the mysterious side of the group with his extremely rare public appearances, his always masked face, and his macabre and direct feed to Zirco in all that Squid Lid creates. The largest member of the band is Squid Lid's growing fan base known lovingly as their 'Tentacles'.
With two official albums under their lids entitled Steam Powered Submarine and Crypto Zoo, Squid Lid is about to release their third full length album called Tackle Box. To experience the macabre yet fantastical sights and sounds of this multi media spectacle visit Squid Lid online (squidlid.com) and be in on the glow.
Exclaim Magazine raves that Squid Lid “… begs a second and third listen...” while Auxiliary Magazine notes they are “… a virtual Frankenstien of sound...” and Blog TO affirms Squid Lid’s live show to provide “... the biggest thrills of the night.”

Member Bios

JAMES ZIRCO FISHER ( The Professor KeyPresser )

Zirco is the founding spearhead of this deep sea project.  He plays live keyboards and composes/arranges the creature tunes.   Trained in the center of the northern flat lands he has brought years of creative technique to the band, both musically and artistically.  He has constructed many masks for Squid Lid, including the iconic 'Robo-Brain' helmets.  His independent illustrations and soundtracks can be experienced at zircocircus.com.
It has not been proven publicly but it is rumored that the Professor has even constructed a multi-armed vest that helps aid all the multi-tasking necessary to keep the group endeavors afloat, giving him literally a squid look.   Zirco has, of course, scoffed at these ideas declaring he has definite help in all that Squid Lid creates.   All the help and support from the beloved Tentacles of the band.

DALLAS BOYES ( The Glow Practitioner )

D.B is a moving image producer.  This multi-tendral maniac is the eyes behind Squid Lid's videos and projections.  He performs live next to Zirco with his unique design of projected image mixing + colored light sculpting which are synced up to audio samples during shows  (both percussive + ambient) that he triggers simultaneously.  D.B is constantly collecting audio and visual snippets for both the live and studio Squiddy productions.  It has been said that he is partially responsible for keeping the Wendigo legends alive in his Northern Forest Homelands having been sighted once or twice in his furry woodsman/beast outfit he prefers to wear while gathering new material.  When asked for his whereabouts during nights that chicken coops are found savagely dismantled or deer turn up inside out up in trees, D.B uses the same alibi each time: 'It weren't meh!  I was deep sea fishin' in my cozy fuzzy housecoat'.

CHLOE DELLARK ( The Voodoo Mechanic )

Chloe is the exotic breathe of this deep sea project.  As a trained vocalist and aerialist from a remote and nameless island located at sea level above the Mariana Trench, she sings the main melodies of Squid Lid live while she performs in elaborate costumes either on stage or in the air magnetizing all who watch and listen with her infectious and sensual energy.
Easily bored and dangerously curious, Chloe has made a hobby of capturing and collecting strange & wonderful creatures, keeping them in ornate boxes and jars in a dank secret-location basement storage.  One might say the other members of Squid Lid are part of her collection too, but of course, none of them would admit to that being true.  Chloe currently has her first creature ever found, named Flatbed, ever-so-slowly documenting all of Squid Lid's deep sea findings in a Journal called The Creature Captions Log which can be viewed online.

JONAH K  ( The Master Lab Blaster )

Jonah is the mad scientist behind most of the Squid Lid tracks heard to date.  He is a co-creator, producer, arranger, and mix master in the Squiddy Lab along side Zirco.  He is one of the founding members of this music project having seen it grow from inside its little glowing petri dish. Jonah K is an active producer/DJ in the North American electronic music scene.   He has released tracks on numerous labels including Vague Terrain and Pawnshop and is currently signed to Permanent Damage Records.  To hear his astounding solo music visit teknotribes.com.

WARNER RESHIFE ( The Technician Physician )

Reshife is the technical beats and bass operator of this deep sea project.  He co-composes and arranges tracks with The Professor and The Lab Blaster in the Squiddy studio but is rarely seen outside of it.  Before being reeled into the Tentacular family from the Big Apple, Reshife survived as a glass blower for tubes inside retro amplifiers until his face was dramatically scarred by a freak accidental explosion experienced while he was experimenting with his radical idea of manufacturing tube amps with glowing minnows in the glass of the tubes themselves.  Most the hybrid minnows of the experiment miraculously survived; however, Reshife's eyebrows and lashes among other facial features did not.  Consequently, Reshife is very much a creature of mystery and above all, many faces.

SQUID LID Recapped ( The Electro-Glow Industrial Circus )

This band project strives to bring forth the mystery and wonderment of the deep seas onto main land.  Their methods are not through conventional science or processes based in the industrial age.  They insist on taking the more creative and colorful route in explaining all that they find simply because most things that exist in the deepest darkest depths of the world are rather upside-down from the norm and require an open mind and heart to understand and even conceive.  Things glow down there.  Things that shouldn't be able to glow.  But that doesn't stop them from doing so.
